Spoon Lore:

This sterling spoon ring was made from the Mermaid pattern designed by the Paye & Baker Co. in 1901

125 years ago, the Paye & Baker Co. designed their mermaid. Known for designs that called forth the romantic & ethereal, the 1901 Mermaid stands out among all silverware patterns as a breathtaking treasure. She remains one of the most sought after patterns among collectors.

Languidly sprawled among the waves, her expressions soft and peaceful, a scene drawn from nautical myth. A mermaid and her faithful guardian, the sea dragon, swimming alongside her.

A treasure among treasures.

How it feels on your hand:

Made from a teaspoon, this spoon ring sits comfortably on the hand without feeling overly wide

Available in sizes 6-16. Fourth and half sizes available as well. This pattern was photographed in size 8.5

Please let me know what size you would like in the order notes. The spoon rings are not adjustable by hand. I size each ring before I ship out.

Oh, If Spoons Could Talk

I love spoon rings. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make them! Spoon rings are a little wearable piece of history allowing the story to be shared and I love that these ornate beauties get to be enjoyed and not banished to some drawer for decades.

All The rings I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts. So each ring is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each ring is, therefore, truly unique. There will not be two that are the same. I put care into the creation of each ring. I put thought into how the ring should best be shaped to frame and display the design of the spoon.

I hope the ring you choose will be a piece you treasure for generations.
